I don't think I'd call myself optimistic, but if waiting until I turn 70 years old to maximize my benefit means that I'm "optimistic," then so be it.

If it's a judgment between drawing a known reduced amount now, waiting for the maximum benefit later, taking a Congressionally-reduced amount in the future, or having the whole thing collapse and disappear before I draw anything, I'll take my chances that any future benefit will be more than taking it now.
