Well, it is a bias. In your case, with this subject, you have established a standard, which is in itself a bias. You have set the US as that standard (a bias).
That is not meant as a criticism.
I see your point - that said, any pick would would establish ‘a standard’ - and hence a ‘bias’. Still, I’ll give you this one... :)
