The Biden administration has delayed its ban on menthol cigarettes after strategists warned President Biden that it could negatively impact his support among black voters.
Leaders in the black community claim that the ban would foster an underground market and cause police to target black smokers in a disproportional manner, the Washington Post reports.
Since the black community has drastically dwindled its support for Biden over the past few years, the president's administration isn't taking any chances despite updated health guidance from the FDA and CDC.
According to data from the CDC, 81 percent of black smokers opt for menthol cigarettes.

Maybe we’ve finally found the magic way to stop some of Biden’s crap. If we got a black preacher to tell him that taking bribes from China was racist maybe he and his lowlife family would quit doing it.
Egg nog has a similar daze affect. Or is it theyz¿
I think blacks like menthols because they like saying “Kools.” At least that was my experience working for a drugstore back in the early 80s.
“Gimme a pack of Kools” was a common refrain. They didn’t seem to go for Newports or other brands.

Who didnt see this coming?
Liberal laws killed Eric Gardner, pass it on.
Have always understood this to be true. But just my own personal observation it seems that in the last several years that menthols have been replaced by weed in the AA community.
The irony of this entire situation on all sides amuses me. Biden, a notoriously closeted yet latent bigot seems truly surprised by the pushback from the historically Dem stronghold in the black community leadership. That same leadership is put on a hot spot to support a poor health choice by playing the race card. And neither side has any sense of the sublime ridiculousness of it all.
I have to snicker when I see Biden and Friends going after smoking cigarettes ... like menthol cigs. However, Marijuana is mostly smoked and it is perfectly legal. What happened to all the anti-smoking Nazis? They are all now puffing pot. So all is well.
I should add that I believe sunlight is the best disinfectant for most things. When we hide things like racial stereotyping, we unintentionally add mystery and intrigue about why it us being hidden and suppressed. Giving some the idea that these are true. By leaving things in the open we can discuss and dismiss unfair caricatures and yea even laugh at those who perpetuate them. I notice liberals don’t like being made fun of or having tables turned. No sense of humor.
Yup—the Karenocracy considers humor to be hate speech.
Watched ‘Blazing Saddles’ uncut, with ads, on Tubi tv the other night. Great film. Prob wouldn’t get made today.
Probably a carry-over from the concern about flavored vapes, snuff, and chewing tobacco. The idea there was that flavored tobacco would turn kids into users.
The connection’s a lot harder to find with menthol cigarettes. Kools have been around so long that nobody finds them especially cool.
The left loves the “slippery slope” argument with tobacco—but got rid of the old one with marijuana.
They just make stuff up—and order people around.
Karenocracy.
I know, right? I could not believe it when I first saw an ad of a middle-aged, middle-class black woman saying how we should ban menthol cigarettes because black people who smoke prefer them.
Dems truly are the Puritans of today.
Kool of Biden to give the blacks a break after all the exhausting retail robbery they engage in. Mass use and abuse of government programs. Sad to say but they know every trick in the book on that. The tricks travel through the grapevine. When 10 weak minds collaborate, you get genius level rip-offs? I guess.
Well, at least they got back their Kools ciggies back from that meanie Joe Biden. An just in time for Christmas, to give your loved or hated one a Kool carton of Kools.
