DeSantis is taking Trump's bait to respond to the CFP.
It's pointless. FSU is good, ACC champs, undefeated. But that doesn't mean ultra impressive (top 4 team) by virtue of the fact that they have that undefeated record while playing a total of only 2 teams that were good enough to make it to the season end rankings. Other teams did a better job of put-up-or-shut-up even with 1 loss (but played 3, 4, or 5 teams good enough to be ranked by the end of the year).

Florida is not the same team after they lost their starting quarterback... and then their second stringer.
Did the NCAA really want to let a team into the final four that would most likely have been slaughtered in the semi-finals?

Agreed.
But avg IQ being what it is, we all knew ahead of playoff teams announcement that there were 5 teams and 4 slots.
That meant there were always going to be a sizable chunk of unhappy fans arguing (tilting at windmills) that their team got shafted.

Texas's strength of schedule was ranked 2nd toughest in the country, while Florida State was 55th. That was the difference.

DeSantis should stop whining. The CFP is an invitational tournament and Florida St. wasn't invited.
