I know I suggested flooding the tunnels on this forum a couple of years ago. An alternative would be to cut off the ventilation system. I would prefer cutting off the ventilation if there were no hostages. They can still leave the hostages on the lower levels to drown, while they move to higher levels, but they can kill the hostages any time they please for that matter.

I've said it several times on FR. Israel should declare to be a nuclear power and give citizens 72hours to evacuate Gaza City, then detonate a 100kt nuclear weapon 1000m below a shaft created for it. It would destroy EVERY tunnel for miles and leave a nice swimming pool, little radiation (unless to dug down to the glassed chamber), and send a HELL of a message to the world.

I think they should have done that at the beginning. That would have helped prevent the suffering of those hostages still held, as well as preserving the normal person infrastructure above ground. If they do this now I think the result will be that the ground will be salted because all the cracks in destroyed tunnels will just flood the land with sea water.
