An Alabama police officer has been placed on leave after a video showed her arresting a handcuffed man and hitting him with a stun gun.
The unidentified cop, from the Reform Police Department in Pickens County, was seen on camera swearing at a black man while he was handcuffed on Saturday.
District Attorney Andy Hamlin said the man, wearing a white t-shirt, gray sweats and a baseball hat, was being arrested on a trafficking fentanyl charge.
The female police officer shouts at the cuffed man to get down and lie on the front of the vehicle, with his face down.
As she begins to go through the man's pockets, she holds a stun gun to his back.
With his body lying against the front of the car, the police officer tells him to 'stay still.'
The man then responds: 'I ain't doing s**t, bro. I got a gun right there.'
The laughing officer grabs the gun that is in the handcuffed man's pocket, before saying 'oh yeah,' and deploying the stun gun into his back.
She screams: 'Shut the f**k up.' The man can be heard whimpering and crying as he repeatedly says in pain: 'Oh my God.'
The cop continues, saying: 'Do you want it again?' He cries, as she says: 'Shut your b***h a** up.'
Reform police Chief Richard Black and Mayor Melody Davis said they were aware of the video, which has circulated on social media.
They called it a 'citizen's arrest' and confirmed it took place on Saturday.

Before I would call something phony, I would do a search, because it makes you not look too bright.
brace for looting
Yep. They’ll burn the place down if the cop isn’t charged. That said I don’t know many “straight” female cops.
I didn't see that, where did you see that? Or did you forget your sarcasm tag?
“Before I would call something phony, I would do a search, because it makes you not look too bright.”
I said it LOOKS “kind of phony.” And, it does; as other FReepers have also said. That’s not the same as saying it IS phony. But that seems to be something beyond your ken to understand. You are too quick to rush to judgment and condemn.
It is, however, very 'stylish'.
I don't trust the media, I don't trust the cops, and I don't trust the drug dealers.
'Tis a bit of a conundrum.
I guess that means you’re insulting me. I don’t feel anything though so maybe I outgrew my sensitivity or something.
After an unfortunate (for me) incident at the hands of police when I was in college I developed an obsessional hatred of all police that lasted for many years. I vowed I was never going to forgive the American people (who I blamed) or go back to normal life again. In a way I never have.
I can agree that you are right that the one today should have stopped from additional tasing and yelling.
Just shows how easily the Media, Big Tech, and Antifa handlers can turn on or off the mob.
ought-six, there was nothing wrong with your comment in post #2.
My goodness. This is a discussion board, not a jury room. We should be able to express even unsubstantiated opinions here without fear of personal attack.
For those who doubt that, here’s an example. I know quite a bit about quantum mechanics. On rare occasion, someone here will post something on the topic that is just wrong. I could berate them for not doing their own research. Or I could offer a gentle correction.
I think the latter choice is always better. It’s what I’d want to see when I say something incorrect here on FR.
absolutely correct...female cops sense of being “over powered” comes much quicker.
Yes, it is a discussion board. But that does not preclude rebuttals or challenges to direct or unqualified claims, declarations, etc. Letting such comments stand assumes acceptance. Does it get snarky? Of course it does.
Tuscaloosa Thread said in part:
The officer holds her Taser in direct contact with the man’s back, then appears to remove a gun from the man’s waistband before shouting, “Oh yeah!” and activating the Taser.

Yes, there certainly should be rebuttals against unqualified claims. My point is that such rebuttals should not include personal attacks. JimRob has made that clear many times.
Your post #2 did not include a personal attack. However, later you were personally attacked. Same has happened to me over the years, and I’m a bit tired of it. Personal attacks chill the conversation. And they go against what the boss wants.
Aw gimme a break! She’s physically less powerful so she used the taser to force compliance with verbal orders instead of just torquing his arm nearly out of joint like a big strong man would have done in the same situation! I have some issues with female police officers who fail to act when they should, this is not one of those cases. She wanted him to comply, he refused, so she used lawful means to force him to. Your explanation belongs in the New York Times.
fake
I was thinking that maybe she was off-duty, hence a “citizen’s arrest.” Yet she’s wearing a uniform.
= = =
Maybe she gets fired, and becomes a citizen; but arrest still holds.
Yeah, something ain’t right...
Yes, it does.
Nothing worse than an angry women.
