This election will be referendum on both Biden and Trump.
I don’t think that Trump will choose someone who will overshadow him, but I think someone strong enough to follow him and maintain his legacy.
Members of congress are used to ruling by consensus, not by command decisions like a chief executive. For that reason they usually don’t make good chief executives. I don’t think it will be a member of congress, either the House or Senate. A governor at the least, someone with executive experience, or a high profile CEO from the private sector.
