Desantis is done and Trump is going to be our candidate, barring successful lawfare against him. I base my statement on Trump's own words on Desantis signing FL's abortion ban:

“I think what he did is a terrible thing and a terrible mistake.”

And on how he said he would deal with the abortion issue if reelected:

“I would sit down with both sides and I’d negotiate something and we’ll end up with peace on that issue for the first time in 52 years,”

Again, Trump is being a pragmatist. He needs women to vote for him. Endorsing FL's 6-week ban would be a losing position with women. I am to the right of Trump on abortion, but I can understand his position, particularly from a political point of view. Politics is the art of the possible.
