"FAFO"

This is a fine kick off for the reported sabotage Ukrainian Special Services have reportedly planned for this Winter.

Finding out Intensifying...

“If China decides to retake the land it still claims in the Far East, the opening of that attack will look a lot like this explosion.”

Time for China to take back Siberia

Results: strengthen ties and cooperation between Russia and China.

Another last gasp Hail Mary from a dying kleptocracy.
And like the final days before the fall of Berlin, drafting women and children to the front.

Sad

Sounds like more ridiculous claims from a Ukraine government desperate for any positive spin whatsoever

Russians themselves are saying it was sabotage

Or, what's your explanation for a railway car exploding in a tunnel?

Always figured China would use this war to expand its territory. At this point besides screaming nuke nuke nuke, Russia has decimated its nether regions of troops and equipment. A whole lot easier than Taiwan and at this point not sure west would do anything more than strongly worded letter

Why buy what you can take, page out of putins playbook

Russia is increasing its third world status, xi will take full advantage and the master strategist continues to wow

Isabel van Brugen reported that "An RBC-Ukraine source reported...." And "Ukraine's SBU told Newsweek that officially, it can "neither confirm nor deny involvement" in the incident...."

"Isabel van Brugen is a Newsweek Reporter based in Kuala Lumpur [ capital city of Malaysia ]. Her current focus is on the Russia-Ukraine war, and she has covered human rights issues in previous roles. Isabel joined Newsweek in 2021 and had previously worked with news outlets including the Daily Express, The Times, Harper's BAZAAR, and Grazia. She has an MA in Newspaper Journalism at City, University of London, and a BA in Russian language at QMUL [ Queen Mary University of London ]. Languages: English, Russian"

Isabel van Brugen is a Newsweek Reporter based in Kuala Lumpur

It is assured that she is not a reporter in this sense, for she is not at or near the seen. This is pass-through journalism, by a journalist "based in Kuala Lumpur." Quite afar off, it turns out.

As long as China gets what it wants and needs from Russia ( food, energy, strategic partnership) why start a war?

Both know the West wants nothing more and has the most to gain.

Chinese expansion is not going by land, but by sea, as it pushes into the Pacific challenging US attempts to dominate….and uses its muscle to acquire or build or gain commercial control over blue water ports on every continent to operate global maritime ops.

Much could be said of Russia pre invasion, they were getting everything they wanted, trade, petro sales why start a war? Granted Russia may have believed this would play out the same as 2014, but never underestimate basic human pride, ego, and greed.

What is the upside to China invading Taiwan?
Are they going to waltz in and become semiconductor producing leader. Or would it be to right some historical slight they want to avenge? Same can be said of territories in Russia that China has historical claims on (Ukraine anyone?)

No saying it is going to happen, but if it were and China wants to add territory seems like this would be the perfect time to do it with Russia occupied elsewhere and these regions being depleted of defense forces.

People underestimated putins ego, same mistake should not be made of Xi.

Wars have been started on far less grounds or pretexts like a prince duke assassination

For all that we have “evolved” technologically, basic human traits still hold greed, power, envy, revenge, strong vs weak…..

Just my 2 cents

I agree.

putn is stupid to trust Xi! Xi desperately needs more land. Siberia is traditionally a part of China. Russia betrayed China to get Siberia. China needs it back now!
