Appeals court reinstates gag order on Trump in NY civil case
Is it accompanied by a stay pending a higher appeal by trump’s lawyers (presuming that is the way that these things work)?
Disgusting.
Unconstitutional.
Anti-American.
There needs to be a reckoning for this.
How much longer does this case go on for?
The courts do what their dark masters tell them to do.
I imagine there is an argument rationale for this which rebuts the defense’s motion arguments (whatever they were)... (?)
I suspect it is the fact that he keeps going after the court’s law clerk (and the alleged resulting death threats) that is getting Trump gagged in this particular case. Right or wrong, law clerks in NY are not prohibited from partisan political activity and, further, calling someone a married Senator’s “girlfriend” may be deemed defamatory in some circumstances.
If Trump had confined himself to calling the Judge and AG crooks, and left the courthouse staff out of it, I think the courts would be less inclined to uphold the gag order(s).
