The Israeli army’s expanded authorization for bombing non-military targets, the loosening of constraints regarding expected civilian casualties, and the use of an artificial intelligence system to generate more potential targets than ever before, appear to have contributed to the destructive nature of the initial stages of Israel’s current war on the Gaza Strip, an investigation by +972 Magazine and Local Call reveals. These factors, as described by current and former Israeli intelligence members, have likely played a role in producing what has been one of the deadliest military campaigns against Palestinians since the Nakba of 1948.
-----snip------
The bombing of power targets, according to intelligence sources who had first-hand experience with its application in Gaza in the past, is mainly intended to harm Palestinian civil society: to “create a shock” that, among other things, will reverberate powerfully and “lead civilians to put pressure on Hamas,” as one source put it.
Several of the sources, who spoke to +972 and Local Call on the condition of anonymity, confirmed that the Israeli army has files on the vast majority of potential targets in Gaza — including homes — which stipulate the number of civilians who are likely to be killed in an attack on a particular target. This number is calculated and known in advance to the army’s intelligence units, who also know shortly before carrying out an attack roughly how many civilians are certain to be killed.

Tough hsit.
Typical lying headline designed to manipulate the stupid. It is a “terrorist elimination retribution.”
Good!
You have to admire the Israeli's restraint. I would have just carpet bombed the muzzles to rubble. And then the rubble to dust.
It’s been almost 100 years since Douhet’s theory of indiscriminate bombing to convince civilians to petition the enemy government to stop was first suggested, and it has never worked, with the possible exception of Hiroshima/Nagasaki. It won’t work here. If you want your enemy to surrender, you have to destroy the enemy territory on the ground, and not stop until all the ground is occupied.
The pressure doesn’t work on jihadis in Gaza. It just makes them madder and makes them more determined. You have to remember that Israel was conquered by Muslims for Allah. Then it was taken away from them by the infidel. That was a slap to their faces. Then it was given to the Jews. Another slap to Muslims. On top of that the country re-founded my mostly atheists and secular Jews. Another slap. That’s three slaps to Islam. Now you know why the Muslims are so dedicated to destroying Israel.
How many Gazan Arabs are dedicated to jihad against Israel and Jews? Based on surveys it seems around 90%.
Even if you break them psychologically in a collective manner, they will still be dedicated to destroying Israel and exterminating Jews. It might not be today, tomorrow, or 10 or 100 years from now, but no matter how long it takes they will stay doggedly determined to reach their goal.
the so-called palestinians also started Nakba in 1948.
FAFO
Actually don’t need to occupy. Just pound it into rubble that even a rat cannot use to hide.
Make a one-mile wide rubble wall at the border. A nice, big kill zone. Anyone trying to cross it is just shot and left to die. Salt it with poison that kills rats and dogs — so fetching them cannot be an excuse to venture into the zone.
As to killing “civilians” — they ceased being that when they voted Hamas into power and demonstrated in favor whenever Hamas murdered or just used a kid as a shield.
Hamas better be glad that I wasn’t in charge, because I would have given them 24 hours to flee across the border to Egypt, and then made a glass parking lot of the entire place. Where not even an insect was left alive
bombing buildings does nothing, killing an entire city of people one at a time until they scream PLEASE STOP! and are begging to surrender does.
I agree with your assessment. GAZA should be depopulated.
DO NOT ATTACK ANYTHING THAT CAN BITE YOU BACK—HARDER.
EXACTLY why they need to be ELIMINATED
And then make the dust bounce. Repeatedly.
How much n restraint did hamas use when they cowardly attacked unarmed unsuspecting civilians out having a good time?
Israel has been far far more restrained than a yone for a great many years- even their expanded regulations are restrained and calculated- hamas has ZERO concern when it comes tO casualties inflicted on civilians- none.
I don’t care what hamas sympathizers have to say about Israel’s response to terrorism- they are far more humanitarian than hamas and ilk ever thougt of being! There simply is no moral equivalency- israel is by far the more moral- always has beenà
Even with Hiroshima and Nagasaki, it’s arguable that wouldn’t have led to the immediate Japanese surrender without the B-29 firebombing campaign that proceeded them. H&N were 2nd or even 3rd rate targets, LeMay had torched just about everything else, including almost all of Tokyo.
best way to assure “never again” ... at least for a while ...
More bombing of Hamasistan please.
Too many people simply cannot bring themselves to believe that true evil exists ... and that it must be defeated, better annihilated.
