The Florida governor has zoned-in on Iowa, spending nearly half of his total $46 million on television, digital and radio ads to persuade Republicans in the first-in-the-nation primary contest state to caucus for him.

Candidates and the Political Action Committees (PACs) backing them have so far already spent more than $250 million on ads with a year left until the election, according to a Financial Times analysis, which includes money out from candidates who already dropped out of the running.

So far $84.23 million has been pumped into the Hawkeye State from all candidates combined.

The second highest spending state is at $47.61 million in New Hampshire, which holds the second primary contest and the first elections of the primary season, followed by spending in South Carolina where candidates have spent just $6.6 million.

More than half of spending in South Carolina, which is holding the fourth primary contest in February, was made by DeSantis and PACs backing him as they have already siphoned $3.7 million there.

Might try to ingratiate himself to the richest man in Florida, Ken Griffin, who moved there from Chicago in 2022.
Net worth around $32.7 Billion.

Glad I don’t live in Iowa, having to watch those ads.

It sure isn’t. DeSantis made a mistake when he took advice that he would stand a strong chance against Trump. And the always hyper-ambitious Haley has merely UNDENIABLY revealed her true deep state globalist nature to all.

I believe Ron DeSantis can claim he is number one in one record book.

I believe Jeb Bush donors only spent about $200 million in Jeb’s losing campaign against Trump in 2016.

So many ads consumed by candidates, regular media sales people make nothing for a few months. No commission on political ads, and radio-tv media outlets can’t really decline ads from other candidates once they sell to one. Radio and television will have 3 - 4 - 5 political ads back to back. They are even being plugged in to things like podcasts.

The time may have come when republican voters no longer have to put up with being ruled by Establishment candidates that hate them.

It will be RINO season in the 2024 primaries.

But it still boggles the mind that people still pay attention to these ads and use them to help make decisions.

I don’t think they do. I think the people who make money off the ads just hype the effectiveness and the people that buy them are spending other folks money an hyping their own effectiveness. The ads create a lot of jobs & revenue.

Good on Governor Ron DeSantis, the only Veteran GOPer running.

BTW, some of the money he's spending comes from the (smallish, I'm retired) donations that I've sent him.

As an aside, I'm so looking forward to the history-making debate tomorrow between Governor DeSantis and Mister Newsom.

The voting Citizens within our fine Country will learn much.
