Looking back, Toyota very successfully produced the Prius with few early problems, and it continues to be competitive.
It and other hybrids have complex drivetrains but apparently pay for themselves in reduced operating costs and a pleasant driving experience.
Hybrids must be anathema among the “woke”.
The ICE is apparently on “the wrong side of history” at this point. EV zealots would probably prefer that ICEs be shunned and banned entirely.
