Why is it that republicans are so horribly bad at this game of politics?The Bolsheviks conquered the Soviet Union because they were the most ruthless faction. They weren't the most numerous or popular.
The Democrats are just following the lead of the Bolsheviks.

The Bolsheviks conquered the Soviet Union because they were the most ruthless faction.
When the Bolsheviks overthrew the provisional government in 1917, they were a minority, but during the Russian Civil War (1917-1923), the Red Army outnumbered the White Army by about 5 to 1 at their peak strengths. It's actually sort of miraculous the White Russians were able to fight on as long as they did.
