A huge storm in the Black Sea has wrecked Russian defences in Crimea and devastated Sochi, an important port city on Russia’s wester coast. Trenches, coastal barriers and firing position were washed away from Yevpatoriya, on the western coast of Crimea, close to Sevastopol. Local reports said winds gusted up to 80mph, with waves of up to 30ft. Meanwhile in Sochi, Russia’s largest resort city, similar scenes played out. Footage showed huge waves washing ashore, damaging buildings and inundating promenades along the sea front. Crimea’s west coast is an important front in Russia’s war with Ukraine and was vulnerable to special forces raids even before the storm hit. Meanwhile Sochi houses a resort used by Putin to host world leaders and is an important symbol of his personal power.

“Severe storm in the Black Sea area left nearly half a million people without power and one person dead in Crimea, as reported by Russian state news agency Tass. The storm caused extensive damage in Crimea, southern Russia, and beach resorts like Sochi, affecting buildings, trees, and power lines. It was part of a weather front that also impacted Romania and Moldova, causing death and power outages.
Crimea declared a state of emergency due to the strongest storm in 16 years, with wind speeds reaching 144 kph. Government offices, including schools and hospitals, were closed, and residents were advised to stay home. In the Chernomorske area of western Crimea, residents lost water and heating due to power outages at pumping stations. Additionally, an issue with a gas pipeline in Saky, western Crimea, was reported.
In Sevastopol, an aquarium flood resulted in the death of about 800 exotic fish and animals. In Russia, the Caspian Pipeline Consortium halted crude oil loading at Novorossiysk port due to extreme weather, including high winds and waves.”

“The storm hit southern Russia and the Crimean peninsula, bringing violent gusts of wind and giant waves breaking over motorways.”

“Meanwhile Sochi houses a resort used by Putin to host world leaders and is an important symbol of his personal power.”
Putin in Russia has sided with Iran and Hamas.
God will now destroy Putin and Russia.
Wow!! Severe damage in Sevastopol!

“A severe storm in Sevastopol and the Crimean peninsula left nearly two million people in Russia and Ukraine without power due to hurricane-force winds, snowfall, and heavy rains. These conditions disrupted electricity lines and caused widespread flooding. The Black Sea coast of Russia experienced huge waves and winds over 140 km/h. The Russian energy ministry reported power outages affecting regions including Dagestan, Krasnodar, Rostov, and occupied Ukrainian territories.
In Crimea, one of the hardest-hit areas, efforts were underway to restore power within two days. The region faced unprecedented wind and wave conditions, with parts of the coastal highway and ferry services in Sevastopol suspended. Train services on the Black Sea coast were also disrupted, and oil loading at Novorossiysk port was halted. Further downpours were expected in Sevastopol and Sochi on the Black Sea coast.”
Well, there go their insurance rates!
🙏🇺🇸🇮🇱👍
And, of course, Russians are the only ones affected by the weather.
The only part I’m sorry about is the damage to the aquarium.
The storm is blowing west to east so most of the damage is on western facing shores and most of those are controlled by Russia. Just a quirk of geography here.
Looks like we are wasting our money by sending it to Ukraine ... just hire John Kerry-Heinz’s climate change on the cheap instead.
The Zeepers are reduced to cheering on storms as the Russians choke out the Ukraine. Sevastopol, Ukraine is also suffering damage but Zeepers don’t understand the geography of the north coast of the Black Sea.
This changes the situation?
Oh, Crimea River!!!
(I crack me up)
Russian response:
Day 1: What storm? There was no storm. Storm is just Ukrainian propaganda.
Day 2: So there was a storm. Russian construction is built to withstand storms. Only minor damage. In one rural village, a tile from the roof of a house blew off and harmed a beautiful little girl. But, thanks to our ever alert fire and rescue department, the little girl was quickly evacuated to a hospital, and there is every reason to hope for a full recovery. However, it has been discovered that the owner of the house is a Ukrainian collaborator and that person will be dealt with accordingly.
Day 3. We now have proof that the American CIA is manipulating the weather in the Black Sea area. The American people are warned that the Russian Federation will not long suffer these war crimes, and that we have the means to defend ourselves.
Day 4. Dmitry Medvedev, drunk as hell, orders Russian strategic nuclear forces to full alert.
US, UK and NATO spy planes have been assessing the damage to Crimea defenses and Russian communications all day yesterday and today.
lol,,,
Most number of NATO allied ISR flights watching Crimea and the Black Sea coast in almost 3 months.
Sevastopol is a sitting duck.
Pretty sick that you people would celebrate a natural disaster.
“Oh, Crimea River!!!
(I crack me up)”
That was a good one. Thanks for the laugh.
