Controlling the means of production is, IIRC, a Marxist goal.
But letting the businesses remain in “ private ownership” of individuals and businesses that comply with govt orders……willingly or by coercion….is fascism
A much more efficient way to exploit human self-interest, greed and talent than by turning the means of production over to central govt bureaucrats and party loyalists….as history showed by the economic failure of Marxist communism in Russia.
