You Won't Believe How Much the Northern Border Saw In Illegal Crossings
Town Hall ^ | 11/23/23 | Sarah Arnold

The southern border is not the only one reaping the downfall effects of President Joe Biden's reckless open border policies. The Northern border has also seen a record-breaking surge in illegal crossings.

According to data, the United States' northern border with Canada saw a 550 percent increase in migrant apprehensions in the last fiscal year.

There were 6,925 apprehensions in the Swanton sector in fiscal year 2023 between October 2022 and September 2023. This is compared to 1,000 in the same sector the previous year, covering New York, New Hampshire, and Vermont, and just 365 in FY 2021.

Swanton Sector Chief Patrol Agent Robert Garcia hit the panic button and requested Border Patrol agents to volunteer to transfer up north.

Garcia also warned that human traffickers are taking advantage of desperate asylum seekers due to the cold weather in the north.

The illegal aliens are arriving from 79 different countries, including countries from which migrants originated: Mexico, India, Venezuela, Haiti, and Romania.

Border officials have highlighted that significant parts of the 5,000-mile-long Northern border, which only has 115 ports of entry, are severely understaffed compared to the southern border.

Vespa "Due to the increased numbers, stations are task saturated with processing large groups, which has contributed to gotaway events, pedestrian and vehicle incursions," Garcia said earlier this year.

Rep. Mike Kelly (R-PA.), co-chair of the Northern Border Security Caucus, warned of the high risks of drugs that come through the border.

"You don't have to worry about coming through a jungle, you just walk across," Kelly told Fox News Digital. "There's not a river that you have to get across; there's really nothing there to keep people from coming over."

Presidential Candidate Vivek Ramaswamy Tweeted:

It’s not “Build-the-Wall” anymore.

It’s Build *Both* Walls.

I visited the Northern & Southern Borders this month. This isn’t a technical challenge, the country that put a man on the moon can fix this. It’s a question of political will.

Riddle me this my FReeper friends:

1. How did the Mexicans and Venezuelans and Haitians manage to make it to Canada? Obviously they FLEW OVER with a valid visa and overstayed.

2. If they’re going to stay illegally, why bother coming to the USA? Doesn’t Canada have a more generous refugee and welfare system that the US? Why not just stay there?

RE: It’s too cold for them

Coming to sanctuary states New York, Illinois, New Jersey, Vermont, Massachusetts, or Washington ain’t gonna relieve them of that issues ( unless they all decide to go to California).

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
It’s possible that they don’t know what “cold” is. They are demanding that they be allowed to sleep on the streets in NYC.
It’s 28 degrees now in central Illinois, I don’t know what it is in NYC now but I’m certain it’s not exactly balmy there.
I don’t know much about the rest of the Northern border but for decades there have been people who live in Windsor and commute to work daily to Detroit, or the opposite. One estimate is 6,500. And hundreds of trucks use the Ambassador Bridge and cars use the bridge or the Detroit Windsor Tunnel.
To catch the bomb carrying terrorists the daily traffic would go down to a crawl as after 9/11. But trucks of illegals packed into the cargo area could arrive every few minutes without being checked as of now. Someone could move a small yield nuclear device or a major bioweapons dispersion system across the border.
Last Winter, it gave me a chuckle when dot heads froze to death trying to sneak into
the United States by crossing the open prairie from Manitoba.
These "brainiacs" are the same ones displacing American jobs at places like Google and
Microsoft. No wonder software is full of bugs.
Just put a bounty on their pelts and we locals will hunt and trap them.
Just like porcupines, in the good old days we got 50 cents for each set of four feet we brought to the town clerk.
Pay the same as for a stolen "scrap" catalytic converter and the druggies will take care of the problem.
A VT and a NH county on the border with Canada have the highest drug use on the country, our meth heads need a better income source for their habits.
I'm somewhat familiar with a very tiny piece of the border...specifically the Vermont/Quebec sector. There are about a million spots where one could just stroll across...in either direction. And it's even easier to imagine the border in North Dakota and Montana being a piece of cake.
Upstate NY from Plattsburgh, NY to Montreal, Canada is much like your area. I was a young boy the early 50’s. I recall all the French types from Quebec who trashed my grandfather’s camp and many others on Lake Champlain in the winter. What is Canada doing? Sadly, Clinton’s wife sold our uranium from Wyoming via Canada to Russia.
most are so preoccupied with the Ukraine and Gaza...that they are oblivious to what is happening right here. The US military has been depleted of its supplies here at home-and we are being invaded
