US officials have a working list of 10 hostages that they believe are likely to be released from Gaza on day one, a source familiar told CNN. It was not clear whether any of the three American hostages – including 3-year-old Abigail Edan – would be released on the first day.
The working list consists of 10 individuals who Hamas had proposed releasing earlier in the negotiations. The list consists of information like gender, nationality and age, but the names of the individuals were never offered.
The deal is structured in such a way that each day, a group of hostages to be released would be handed off to the Red Cross; the Red Cross would then take the group to a designated border point, which will largely depend on the location of those hostages, the source familiar said. Many of the first 50 hostages are expected to come out through Egypt, they said.
The first two days of the hostage release will be treated as a “testing period,” a source said, to make sure the process is working. By day three, there is expected to be intense discussions about the potential second phase of the hostage release beyond the initial group of 50.
“The first swap is the most crucial to see that the mechanism is working as was agreed,” the source said.

A pregnant Israeli woman, kidnapped by Hamas during their October 7 attack, has now given birth in Gaza, according to a letter sent by Sara Netanyahu to First Lady Jill Biden on November 16.
The pregnant woman was kidnapped along with approximately 240 others.
“You can only imagine, as I do, what must be going through the young mother’s mind as she is being held with her newborn by these murderers,” the prime minister’s wife wrote in the emotional plea.
Netanyahu also wrote of the 32 children being held hostage by the terrorist group and how they “are surely suffering from untold trauma… having witnessed the brutal murder of their parents and siblings on the horrific October 7.”
“Hamas also abducted a 10-month-old. A baby. He became kidnapped even before he learned how to walk or talk.”

Hamas is not guaranteeing that the released hostages will be alive. Looks like the deal is off.

There never was a "deal". Only strong demands from the US for Israel to ceasefire with empty promises of hostages to be returned as a face-saving rationale.
I doubt if HAMAS still has more than a dozen hostages alive by now. They cannot honor a deal even if they wanted to.
What they need to do is stall for time as they get their remaining fighters completely intermixed with the "civilian" population in the south of Gaza. That turns every IDF military action into a "massacre of unarmed civilians". It is not playing well in the US and can be used as a justification for our rulers to back away from supporting Israel.
HAMAS is counting that the US government can be induced to cut off arms supplies to Israel and promote "humanitarian aid" to Gaza that will allow HAMAS to reposition their surviving fighters and rearm them.
Israel seems to be hoping that a coalition of other countries will absorb two million Palestinians as "refugees" so the IDF does not need to exterminate them in Gaza.
Nobody will be happy with how this turns out.
The Palestinian cockroaches, er, I’m sorry, “Hamas”, knows that Israel needs weapons from the US and that our leadership is weak. They’ll first only deliver the few who have relatives still held back. Those released will praise Hamas via a script that will supposedly ensure their loved ones more time. There’s NO WAY the negotiation will be honored. The cockroaches will scramble, ASAP, before the politicians get wise.
