“I honestly can’t think of anything that is better in society now vs when I grew up.”

Many products are much better, such as air conditioners.

When I was young, color printing was somewhat of a luxury. Many books were only partially printed in color.

My aunt & uncle bought a color TV in 1964 - for $700.

Laser printers print much nicer than my Smith Corona typewriter did.

I meant with respect to society. As in morals, values, beliefs, etc.

I didn’t explain myself properly, mea culpa.

$700 in 1964 is a lot of money…

While technology has certainly made certain things better, I think we got carried away.
See a family of four at dinner, all are staring at their phones, no talking.
An online library dwarfing any library in all history, internet is porn and games.
Most powerful military ever, zero border control.
