Years ago I worked at a company called Naum Brothers. Met my wife there, over 50 years ago.

Most of the merchandise was in the warehouse. My wife worked in housewares, I worked in the warehouse.

If a customer wanted a particular toaster, my wife or any other sales person, would send down a ticket, through an air tube. I would open the tube, read the order, go to the location in the warehouse where these toasters are kept and set the item on a conveyor belt that went up into the store. Rinse repeat.

Maybe necessity will bring back this way of shopping to thwart the flash mobs.

Or maybe all retail stores will close and we will just buy everything from Amazon.

They hit an Amazon truck the other day. Driver makes a delivery and looks back to see her truck being emptied. People recording it laughing and having a good time.
