A Muslim once told me, “A man MUST be dishonest, but [not dishonest enough to steal from a brother Muslim.] only to the Infidels.”
Somehow, in view of what I know now, it made a crazy sort of sense. Everything in the Quran supports the Muslims in whatever they do to Infidels, especially Western Christians and Jews, by association.
Islamic morality is tribal.
You must be good to fellow Muslims, but ONLY fellow Muslims deserve good treatment.
