If this had been BLM, there would have been riots for weeks afterwards. Maybe longer.

Generally speaking, I support first responders who do their job according to guidlines, turn their noses up at corruption and who obey the law - this excludes officers who abuse their power and use excessive force against civilians. I understand that the situation probably felt unpredictable, but by and large, those protesting had respect for police; up until that point at least. There was little chance of violence until DCMPD lost their sh¡t.

Things may have gone very differently had the National Guard been present.

I’m sure their orders were to do everything possible to escalate the level of violence not defuse the situation. That was why they used plastic bullets, flash bangs, and tear gas on peaceful protesters outside the building. They WANTED video they could use against both Trump and his voters.

It looks like the “Metropolitan Police” are the ones shoving all the others forward ... and ‘spoiling’ for a confrontation! It was all planned by the embedded elements to stage the appearance of violence ... no matter what.

The demonstrators were obviously not themselves disposed to go to that extreme and had no intention of starting or engaging in violence. It wasn't happening fast enough for the Metro guys, so they tried to instigate it ... you can see them shoving everyone ahead of them
