Rejecting the last 100 years of agricultural technology? Stalin and Mao tried that in the past. It didn't end well.
“BIPOC” is Dim-speak for not a sorry good-for-nuthin white person.
429 growers out of 124000 growers got 30% of the loans and that is deemed unfair? That’s .003% getting 36%. I’d say yeah, that’s unfair for the remaining 123,571 growers who got 64%.
Hitting all the right notes...
“collective”
“black”
“sustainable”
“grant”
Mao said China’s key to the future was making steel and he instructed the nation to build back yard furnaces and smelters. Everybody knew that if they ignored “Dear Leader’s” commands, they were going to be killed or sent to re-education camps, so everybody built backyard furnaces.
Agriculture quickly ground to a halt because farmers became amateur steel makers. Mass starvation soon followed.
I look forward to the future companion article describing how this grant money amounted to nothing in terms of results. Heck, they may even mention the word “fraud”.
Seriously looking forward to the fruit of this collective labor.Recipients of free money are always smiling, not toiling...There is no healing without land justice. The real work begins.
Grateful to serve and be a part of such a powerful group of thought leaders and advocates!

Do it without the government’s assistance...then I’ll be impressed.
Ironically these folks are going to get regulated out of business. I have 43 years experience in California agriculture. They are going to have to deal with USDA, EPA, Fish and Wildlife, Cal EPA, DPR, Fish and Game, CARB, Sustainable Groundwater, Ag Order 4.0, nitrogen budget, and on and on.
I wouldn’t be surprised to see that The Powers That Be somehow exempt BIPOC farmers from all of those regulations that strangle you and other “normal” farmers.
Ze bugs and ze seeds. Gonna need a toothpick.
