“I have had some thoughts about women leading in politics as well. I guess that may sound odd coming from a woman, but, over the years I’ve watched women be ruled by emotion rather than logic.”
Ditto here. As a female engineer, I tend to be ruled by logic over emotion. And when I watch women acting irrational without explanation, I get embarrassed. For them. That has happened recently here. So while I would like to say that we can all be trusted, I get reminded time and again that’s not true.
My worst managers have been females. Females trying to make a point. The men just want to get the work done.
But saying a female shouldn’t be in a position of power because she should be taking care of her family, I don’t believe is relevant once her children are grown. Or perhaps she has no children. Or a single. There are lots of extenuating circumstances on that one.
Yup, that's about it. Nice to see some objective-thinking ladies out there who don't mindlessly go lock-step with the women's libbers.
I agree if women have no children, single, grown children, etc. then it’s certainly logical for them to pursue something to which they feel called. If they are called, then it will work fine with their families.
Ideally, if they feel called into politics and leadership, they are not right-brained....their emotions don’t make their decisions. Emotions cannot be trusted - Scripture even tells us this.
Sadly, in this corrupt world, I felt that Supreme Court Justices should not have young children. That could open them up to vulnerability - parents of younger children will do anything to keep them safe.
Most men I’ve known are more emotional than I am. But you’re right, leaders shouldn’t be run by emotions. And I think girls are taught emotions are more important than logic. Only nowadays men are taught that too. We’re doomed!
