Ok, I’m trying to understand WHY they don’t include these two most basic consumer necessities in the index. The 4 basic things in life we spend on the most are :

FUEL
FOOD
HOUSING
CLOTHES

Shouldn’t these be ALL included in the CPI? If not, why not?

They should, but the weak minded moron followers of joe and the Ho, along with all dems, are more encouraged by the false data and propaganda that leaving it out creates.

They used to be included, but when inflation peaked around 21% during the Carter Administration, they tried using smoke and mirrors to convince the public that inflation wasn’t that bad. It wasn’t that bad because because the gov’t changed the goal posted by omitting some of the fastest growing prices in energy and food from the index.
