To: Tell It Right

I saw a recent stat that said only 4% of EV drivers didn’t have an ICE car.

From 2022...

VinFast receives $1.2 billion in incentives for US manufacturing hub in North Carolina

From last month...

Recipient of largest state subsidy posts $623M loss, most in three years

Guess who.

Also from last month...

VinFast losses surpass $5 billion as NC-bound automaker wants EVs in US dealerships

Is that a car manufacturer...or a front for money laundering?

It’s an EV and EVs suck. They’re impractical at this time for anyone who doesn’t live in a city and isn’t a climate cultist deranged liberal

Sure, Toyota builds a quality vehicle. But ask yourself, who ultimately benefits from the sale

Everyone involved between the consumer and the CEO... If the UAW is involved, then socialists benefit too.

It is mostly a Chinese car considering the ties Vinfast company, parts, and manufacturing have with China!

The brand name country of origin
is the one that gets fat. The UAW
don’t care as long as their belly
are full, and they can afford to
buy a boat to go fishin’ in.

This is what Google Bard, Google’s AI model reported on my request for chinese connections to Vinfast:

Vinfast, Vietnam’s first domestic automaker, has a number of ties to China. These ties include:

Manufacturing: Vinfast’s manufacturing plant in Hai Phong, Vietnam, is built to Chinese standards and uses a number of Chinese suppliers.

Technology: Vinfast has partnered with Chinese companies on a number of technology projects, including battery development and vehicle design.

Investment: Chinese companies have invested heavily in Vinfast, including Gotion High-Tech, a leading Chinese battery manufacturer.

Vinfast’s ties to China have been both a blessing and a curse. On the one hand, they have allowed Vinfast to gain access to capital, technology, and expertise that would have been difficult or impossible to obtain elsewhere. On the other hand, they have also made Vinfast vulnerable to criticism from those who worry that it is too dependent on China.

In recent years, Vinfast has been working to reduce its reliance on China. For example, it has been building up its own battery development capabilities and has partnered with companies from other countries, such as Germany and the United States. However, Vinfast’s ties to China remain significant.

Here are some specific examples of Vinfast’s ties to China:

In 2021, Vinfast signed a memorandum of understanding with Gotion High-Tech to build the first lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery plant in Vietnam.

In 2022, Vinfast announced that it would be using batteries from Gotion High-Tech in its VF e34 and VF5 electric vehicles.

Vinfast’s VF e35 and VF e36 electric vehicles are designed by Pininfarina, an Italian design firm, but the Chinese company Taizhou Jingchaoli Molding Co., Ltd. played a significant role in the development of these vehicles.
Vinfast has also partnered with Chinese companies on other projects, such as the development of its self-driving technology and its VinBus electric bus service.

Overall, Vinfast’s ties to China are complex and multifaceted. The company has benefited from Chinese investment, technology, and expertise, but it has also been criticized for its reliance on China. Vinfast is working to reduce its reliance on China, but it remains to be seen how successful it will be in doing so.

First we laughed at Toyota’s silly little cars...then we cried about the price of gas...then we cried about the big 3 not having silly little cars...then we cried about how dangerous the big 3’s silly little cars were...then we cried about how expensive Toyota’s silly little cars were...then we cried that Toyota was making too much money by making their silly little cars in Japan and shipping them to us...Then we cried that Toyota was building their silly little cars in the U.S., but weren’t using UAW labor...Then we cried about Toyota making the same size cars and trucks that the big 3 make and taking most of that U.S. market away...then we cry that Toyota still makes a profit on every car they sell in the World. Toyota has earned every penny, while others cry.

The VF5 is not marketed in the US. And I bet the US price, once it is, will likely be double.

The car apparently is assembled in Viet Nam.

There is parts manufacturing taking place in China.
