This is a real problem. The people who live in those neighborhoods should be very upset with the defund-the-police crowd, the DAs not prosecuting vandalism and theft, and most of all at the thugs who make doing business in the ‘desert’ undoable.
I read that whole article waiting for even one sentence on criminal behavior, i.e., theft as in shoplifting and shrinkage by employees being a driving force for these chains to close in the ghetto. Silence. It was deafening. And obviously clear. Just like the grocery stores......
The leftist media (but I’m just repeating myself) just have to drag race into everything, don’t they.
How long before some Democrat introduces a bill to have Medicare provide pharmacies in the inner cities for marginalized communities because this is problem that only the Federal Government can solve?
So then tell the “poor” people to stop stripping the stores bare! The “oppressed” people who have to drive a half hour are suffering because of the thieves in their midst.
What will the government do? Open “free” drug dispensaries? Paid for by the people who DIDN’T shoplift.

Then they complain about no stores. Maybe these complainers should have thought about that when they were spawning and raising uncivilized feral savages who have zero regard for the law.
There's a reason a civilized society has laws, police forces, DAs, judges, jails, and prisons. When you build a civilized society with those tools developed over thousands of years, you can have nice things, stores abound, and goods are plentiful.
When you upend thousands of years of human experience and take us back to pre-civilizational times, this is what you get.

Right on que...waves of urban drug stores closing down because they are being looted into insolvency....and now the wailing and gnashing of teeth over the urban drug store deserts that result. It’s almost as if it was planned this way.
