The sheriff of California's Sacramento County accused Target leaders of preventing deputies from thwarting shoplifting incidents despite the store requesting help to stymie rampant retail crime.
"We don’t tell big retail how to do their jobs, they shouldn’t tell us how to do ours," Sheriff Jim Cooper posted in a lengthy X post Thursday.
Cooper said Target, one of the largest retailers in the U.S., reached out to his office multiple times requesting assistance with shoplifters, who the sheriff said were frequently "known transients."
The sheriff’s office and Target worked to conduct an operation at the store to nab shoplifters, but the plan apparently crumbled after Target leaders made a list of rules for where and how deputies and detectives could arrest the suspects.

No need to show up for 911 calls from tagret stores.
“target stores”
They aren’t called Target stores for nothing.
Police to Target: “Don’t call us no more, not until you get a change in policy or a hard kick in the ***, whichever happens first!”
If you build it, they will come.
I remember the same thing happening at a store in Tulsa OK fifty years ago. Off duty cops were hired to “stop shoplifting!” When they caught the shoplifters the store manager would not press charges. He Only wanted the cops to stop the shoplifting, not arrest the shoplifters.
Needless to say, the cops were withdrawn as they could do no good and the store was cleaned out by shoplifters.
Target Rich environment stores 😖. Why do their shareholders put up with this crap?
Walmart does the same thing. They call the police for shoplifting and then ask prosecutor’s offices not to prosecute.
They just built a new Target in our town. I have zero reason to set foot in there. I haven’t heard anyone talking about it.
Now they’re sending out $10 coupons begging people to show up.
Where did the state give these "Target leaders" a badge and the official sanction to tell others how to enforce the law?

I have zero reason to set foot in Targay since they stopped selling hot popcorn.
The store used to called Daytons, and is closely held by the Dayton family. Mark Dayton was the Democrat Governor of Minnesota from 2011-2018. He is a recovering alcoholic and has been treated for depression. In 1978, he married Alida Ferry Rockefeller, at the Rockefeller home in Tarrytown, New York.
Does that tell you anything?
....they will steal.
Mark Dayton = Big rich liberal
Alida Rockefeller = Big rich Illuminati family scion
Target Store = Big Red Target
"Symbolism Will Be Their Downfall"
Not in northern Idaho. they get arrested and charges are filed. Usually its the mayor and supervisors who handcuff the cops.
If I were Target Management I would be telling the Sheriffs; “IF you get the chance beat them senseless with your batons and make sure you get it on film, when you cuff them do it wrist to ankle then drag them by their hair to the paddy wagon for everyone to see, I want the honest public to know that Target does not tolerate criminals”!
Bet they would get a lot more customers into their stores with a policy like that.
>>”We were told they didn’t want to create a scene inside the store and have people film it and put it on social media. They didn’t want negative press. Unbelievable,” he wrote.
I would think that social media of shoplifters being busted would help deter shoplifting.
Target is going to have to raise their prices to offset their losses. Another reason to stop shopping there. Target management appears to be rather feckless. I would guess the quality control they require for their suppliers are low also.
Works for me!
If the professional RICO shoplifters ever decided to concentrate on Target, they could be eliminated in 2 years max. SanF@g's Mission St closure was a huge paradigm shifter, because everyone talked...
"“This store does between $80,000 to $120,000 in sales every day. And they lose 25 of it [meaning $25,000]. Even if they’re making 25% profit, the stealing takes that down to zero.”
