Rep. Abigail Spanberger (D-Va.) will not seek reelection in Virginia’s 7th District next year so she can run for Virginia governor in 2025, according to two people familiar with the Democrat’s plans.

Spanberger, who won a third term last year in one of the state’s most competitive swing districts, will announce her gubernatorial bid very soon, according to the two, who spoke on the condition of anonymity because the congresswoman had hoped to make her announcement a surprise. One of the two said she was preparing to launch her campaign “imminently.” The other was more specific, saying she would do so Monday with the release of a video.

She clearly lost, then magically a USB drive was “found” at 3:00 am with thousands of votes for her, the next morning they announced she won with 50.5% The Virginia Democrats are a fine tuned cheat machine, financed by Northern Virginia (DC metro) money.

I’m glad she is leaving my district, but not if it means she becomes Governor. Old Dominion politics is as dirty as it is old, and the rats here perfected the “ballots found overnight” cheat decades ago. You go to bed at midnight and the Republicans have sweep it. Then overnight the big cities (NoVa, Richmond, Norfolk) find just enough votes to win by 1%.
