I’m not sure.
In my opinion, it is one of four things:
A DISPARITY NOT FACED, THOUGHT OUT, OR IS INNATELY RECOGNIZED AND IGNORED
These are the people who know, deep down, that they are wrong. But they won’t allow it to surface and affect their stance. It is an obvious disparity that in normal people would, I think, cause a great deal of disruptive and destructive cognitive dissonance. (That is why the Left is so insane, because there is a terrible degree of cognitive dissonance in a multitude of their ideological beliefs. It bounces around in their heads destroying their gray matter, should any actually exist.)
A DISPARITY NOT CONCEIVED OF
Someone who simply is not aware of the issue enough to even realize the disparity, and there isn’t even a hint of cognitive dissonance in them. This happens a lot too. 50% of the population is in the lower half of the IQ distribution.
IDEOLOGICAL BLINDNESS
Many of us are guilty of this in some form or degree, so there is that. These people are not the ignorant “A DISPARITY NOT CONCEIVED OF” types. They are well versed in the issues, but when given a Manichaean choice, decide to cut on that line on once side or the other.
PROVOCATUER OR TROLL
We do have plenty of them. They don’t need to be right or wrong on a given issue, they just have an end in mind, and words on a subject are simply a means to that end. They don’t care if there is inconsistency because it doesn’t suit their needs or achieve their goals.
I think your last point may be the one that resonates the most. It’s the inconsistency that bothers me. Trump has, in the past, been a solid friend and supporter of Netanyahu. Has that changed lately and we just haven’t heard yet? If not, somebody jumped the shark on this issue. And if so.... why? To what end?
So many unanswered questions these days.
