Never understood why people have to be nasty to each other on social media. I get that on Twitter also (now called X).

The old Free Republic was really something. Hard to believe it started over a quarter of a century ago.

I've been here 25+ years and boy has this site changed and NOT for the good; sadly.

The civility is mostly gone, the insults and name calling are now ridiculous, and while we did used to debate...USING FACTS, that is almost nowhere here now. And this only manages to upset others and make them angry. So I don't understand WHY others do it.
