I have a couple of conservative friends in KY who said they were voting D for Gov because “they liked him”.

Yes, our side still tends to believe in voting for the man, not the party.
Unfortunately, their side is all about “Democratic Party Uber Alles”, they’d vote for Hitler if he had a “D” next to his name.
