US Senate predictably blocks bill on aid to Israel without Ukraine

Democrats in the US Senate have blocked Republican attempts on Tuesday, 7 November, to swiftly approve an emergency aid bill for Israel without any funds for Ukraine, which the House of Representatives passed last week.

Source: European Pravda, citing Reuters

Details: Representatives of the majority in the upper house of the US Congress stressed the importance of providing assistance to Ukraine and Israel in addition to humanitarian aid, border security funding, and money to push back against China in the Indo-Pacific.

They recalled that this was included in the US$106 billion funding request that US President Joe Biden sent to Congress last month.

Democrats have also accused Republicans in the US House of Representatives of playing politics with events in Israel, as they are tying aid to Israel to cuts in funding for the US Internal Revenue Service (IRS).

I hadn't seen this covered in US media.

Let the bastards stew in their NO votes for a while.

They have not even passed an alternative.

Agreed. Let’s see if the new Speaker knows how to use his leverage.

Wait a week. Pass it again. Ukraine’s reputation is sinking fast. And without our help, EUROPE is sending them more stuff, as Trump always wanted them to do.

Republicans should aggressively blame this on anti-semitism.

And if a few Democrats had made the decision to vote that the bills should be separate, the requisite number of Republican’s would have voted to block the bill.

All of Congress is kabuki theater. But the Senate is award winning performance art when it comes to that.

They want the “border security” money — a macabre joke, the word “security” in that — MUCH more than they want the Ukraine money. The “border security” money is bribe money to blue sanctuary cities that are pissed off at FJB at the moment.

Speaker Johnson, hold the line!

Fat chance. Senate Republicans, collectively, couldn’t pour pee out of a boot with the instructions on the heel.

Fine and dandy. Everyday Schumer doesn’t touch it, money not being spent.

Our Founding Fathers never dreamt that one day these scumbags would be loyal to a political party rather than their respective states. Much of the time it is uniparty anyway so affiliation means even less.

People move around now. Back then the vast majority of people lived their entire lives in one state, that's no longer the case.

"I think the American Taxpayers have the right to know where the hell those billions of billions of dollars Pedo Joe gave the Ukies have gone."

I've been saying that all along, and the Youkraine droolers label you a Putin troll. No money should have been approved before there was a system set in place that someone would be held accountable for where this money ended up. They deliberately fail to set up any such requirements, each and every time they toss our money to another country, and it's because so many of the politicians, their family members, friends and big donors, are making money hand-over-fist off investments in the industrial complex, and through money laundering.

It's disgusting that there are people on FR who claim to be conservatives that don't give a crap about the money, or the accountability for that money. Their most important issue is just keep giving Youkraine money and weapons. They are on the Biden corruption train, and have no problem letting this country go to $hit. They ignore the invasion from the south, the continued growth of communism in this country, stolen elections, the loss of Constitutional rights, the continued illegal attacks on a Republican Presidential candidate, all for the sake of a piece of land the size of Texas, almost 6,000 miles away. Their priorities suck.

Oh well. I’ve been saying since 10/7 that Israel can make their children debt slaves just as easily as we can. Maybe Israel will just have to pay for weapons and munitions using their own money. And don’t get the wrong idea about me. I think Israel is our best ally in the ME and they have my full moral support. We simply cannot afford to pay for the defense of the world and also take care of the problems at home. The mass deportation of 20+ million illegals ain’t going to be cheap.

Yes. And when the Senate sends back a unified bill, the House should carve out the Israel portion and return it to the Senate, telling them they will address Ukraine after Israel, then after the US border.

I seriously doubt, for the first time, that the Senate can pass the unified bill.

Or ANY bill on the on the subject.

And the passing of the 17th Amendment was the nail in the coffin for individual districts in each state and turned into mob rule which we see today.
