A Manhattan coffee shop nearly had to close for the day after its baristas walked out
How is it that because Starbucks came up up with special names for their servers that the term is applied to all coffee establishment staff? I run our church’s coffee and donuts, and I sure as heck not a “barista”.

Check out the definition. Surprisingly, it applies to coffee serving, not alcohol serving. Guess it sounds better than “counterista.”

We used to serve that way, too, until they (pastor and cronies) whined so much, we quit.
