no, we should not have dropped the bombs where we did because they were civilian targets.

Those bombs saved more Japanese lives than American lives in the end.

I’ll call the Palestinians terrorist, and women who get abortion murderers. I’m no messing with pc language, there are no moral equivalencies here. Israel vs terrorist barbarism.

My kids were told the reason they were being taught about the Holocaust was so “that it will never happen again”. I told them that is great, but it has happened again and worse - and keeps happening.

I forget all of the things I taught them about - but of course Stalin, Mao, Vietnam, Cambodia, Armenia, some places in Africa, etc. Israel wasn’t in the news at the time, but I should have included them as well.

One of my daughters did a report about the Holocaust when she was very young. A bunch of kids in her class said that she was making it up. The teacher told them that she was telling the truth, and that they would learn about it in a few more years.

Oh, really ...?

Hiroshima was a city of considerable military importance. It contained the 2nd Army Headquarters, which commanded the defense of all of southern Japan. The city was a communications center, a storage point, and an assembly area for troops. To quote a Japanese report, "Probably more than a thousand times since the beginning of the war did the Hiroshima citizens see off with cries of 'Banzai' the troops leaving from the harbor."

The Kure Port is located north of the Geiyo Islands at the east entrance of Hiroshima Bay near the center of the Seto Inland Sea. Before the war, it was home to a naval shipyard, and it developed as a naval port.

The city of Nagasaki had been one of the largest sea ports in southern Japan and was of great war-time importance because of its many and varied industries, including the production of ordnance, ships, military equipment, and other war materials. The narrow long strip attacked was of particular importance because of its industries.

Sasebo Naval Arsenal (佐世保海軍工廠, Sasebo kaigun kōshō) was one of four principal naval shipyards owned and operated by the Imperial Japanese Navy. The Sasebo Naval District was established at Sasebo, Nagasaki in 1886, as the third of the naval districts responsible for the defense of the Japanese home islands. After the establishment of the navy base, a ship repair facility was established in 1889 with a dry dock.

The Imperial Japanese Navy employed some 50,000 people at the Sasebo Naval Arsenal at the peak of World War II, constructing and refitting destroyers, light cruisers, submarines and other various naval vessels. The 21st Naval Air Arsenal (Dai-Nijuichi Kaigun Kokusho), established jointly at Sasebo and Omura, produced a total of 966 aircraft. The facilities at Sasebo were used for repairs on the battleships Yamato and Musashi during the Pacific War.

A sensible teacher.

“Wonder Woman” (With Chris Pine) was very enjoyable. I was expecting a pretty awful woke reboot comic movie but they avoided it and stuck to a good story and plenty of action. And she sure looks good in her outfit... I haven’t seen any of the other movies after it but the first one was pretty good..

Dropping the Atomic bombs absolutely saved lives. Here is why:

“The battle was the bloodiest in the Pacific, with around 50,000 Allied and 84,166–117,000 Japanese casualties, including Okinawans conscripted into the Japanese Army. According to local authorities, at least 149,425 Okinawan people were killed, died by coerced suicide or went missing.”

Not only that, it prevented Japan from being divided, like Korea, which most likely would have resulted in a Civil War with the Communists.

you might have a point if the nukes had been dropped on Kure port and the Sasebo Naval Arsenal, but they were not

In case your reading skills haven't been up to par, the Kure port facilities were at Hiroshima, and the Sasebo Naval Arsenal was at Nagasaki ... and you didn't mention anything about the fact that there was an Army HQ responsible for the southern part of Japan, along with a military presence of thousands of soldiers and military industrial facilities in both locasions.

Or are you arguing that you believe that any civilian presence at the target locations gives them protected status ...?

That’s like saying that Fort Hood (well, I guess it’s Cavazos now) isn’t a valid target because Killeen is right next door ... and then arguing that, since Fort Hood isn’t actually Killeen, it’s not a valid target.

Now I know you’re being deliberately obtuse. Kure is in Hiroshima and Sasebo is in Nagasaki. You have no arguments, just wanna be a troll.

But if he kicks her out of the house, she can stay at my house for as long as she wants.

It's unfortunate that you aren't presently in a relationship with a woman.

Kure, a city located in Hiroshima, Japan, was not damaged by a nuclear bomb during World War II

The city was repeatedly attacked by Allied aircrafts during the war, targeting the major naval base located at the city, ships moored at this base or nearby, industrial facilities, and the city’s urban area itself

Sasebo, a city located in Nagasaki Prefecture, Japan, was not directly damaged by a nuclear bomb during World War II.

However the city was heavily bombed by the United States on June 29, 1945, resulting in destruction of 48% of the city.

She’s very anti Trump, pro Biden.

They would not allow her to be Wonder Woman if it were otherwise.

Not that that should be an excuse.
