Even Hertz, the car rental company that once imagined becoming the world's premier EV provider,

To rent? No way would I rent an EV.

No way would I rent an EV.

Just got back from a trip to Calif to see family and friends. The Hertz rental car guy said he could offer great rates on EV's. I told him no way since we were staying in several hotels and would have no reliable way for recharging. He replied, yeah nobody wants them.

Do they really want to kill tourism because this is how you kill tourism.

You’d be forced to buy the Collision Damage Waiver every time you rented. Imagine a fender-bender resulting in a total loss of the EV.
