No - they took out school sponsored prayer and encouraged it to be read - see Engel v. Vitale, 370 U.S. 421 for an example.
Students can pray in school now.
Yes they did, and *THAT* was where many of our problems came from.
It was a ridiculous reading of the 14th amendment.
