I still don’t understand how the gov’t can bring this to court. It was a private transaction where both sides agreed to the terms. The lender was satisfied with the collateral claim and must have performed its due diligence or they would not have agreed to the loan. Trump also signed the loan agreement so he was satisfied with the terms. How does the gov’t have the right to step in to this transaction? What are the legal arguments for doing so?
Another example why wealth sovereigns should not be permitted to be involved in government nor politics.
