Get an assistant cat. I have never seen a cat that wasn’t a “mouser”.
Whatever you do, don’t buy that poison where the mouse just goes off and dies.
We did that and it took care of the mouse problem okay. But a few weeks later, our house stunk like a rotten mouse. The little rascal chose to die behind the drywall, between the studs.
Trying to figure out where the corpse lay was difficult, as was tearing down the wall.
Henceforth, we only used spring-loaded traps. Waiting for the SNAP in the middle of the night is a bit unnerving though.
