Ironically, no party affiliation seems to be mentioned. Bingo!
However, there is this from Ballotpedia that may or may not be applicable to Paterson:
"Therefore, it is not mandatory for candidates to declare their political party affiliation in New Jersey city elections." (Although Ballotpedia does so describe the winner's affiliation.)
That seems a bit like the entire national MSM becoming at once uncomfortable with describing Dem states as "Red" states and deciding, for no other apparent purpose, to flip the colors.

Oh, I knew perfectly well that the City Council President of Paterson, NJ, was a Democrat. I lived in New Jersey for a few years.
