Newly-elected House Speaker Mike Johnson has proposed giving Israel $14.3 billion in aid in a stand alone bill while President Biden is asking Congress to pass a $105 billion aid package to fund Israel, Ukraine, Taiwan and border security. Rep. Michael McCaul (R-TX), the House Foreign Affairs Committee chairman, joins Andrea Mitchell to weigh in on whether the bill will pass and if the final version could include the aid requested by the president. “We're gonna pass this measure on Israel to show our support for Israel but to your point, Andrea, all these threats in my judgment are linked together,” McCaul tells Andrea.

Schumer has an easy 60 votes in the Senate, but there's also likely 25-35 NO votes from Republicans.
It's apparent the Senate and White House thinks they can kick enough dirt in the face of the House to cause them to fold and accept.
These pukes can’t even lie well anymore!
Zero dollars for any foreign country.
The great American sellout is bipartisan.
Pass the stand alone. If they reject it, pass it again with double the spending cuts. Do this until they give in
THEY want the spending. They need to be taught that the US House is not the US Senate or US White Houses rubber stamp.
Man... They sure are hell bent on making sure their pockets are going to get lined. This is NOT about “patriotism” at all.
Why not just make it a loan at 7 or 8 %. Because we are just borrowing it from ourself.
Johnson needs to start with a small win or he is in for a very rough ride, and a short stint as the leader. This is an easy hill to fight on, I think polls show people are weary of Ukraine, and although I believe they will get support at the end, it should not be attached to aid to Israel.
I am in support of a stand alone bill to assist Israel.
As for ukraine, not one more dime!
“Zero dollars for any foreign country.”
Amen. The American taxpayer has been fleeced since WWII.
McCaul is another Rino we could do without.
Why don’t republicans come out and state that the requirement for Ukraine aid is assurances that there is no “10% for the big guy”? The so called border security money that the Admin wants to also attach to the Israel aid is nothing of the sort, and calling it border security money is a bad unfunny joke.
Did I not hear a proposal I thought brilliant, if it could be accomplished.
To whit, all money for the Israel aid package would be taken from the IRS budget for 24?
“Why don’t republicans come out and state that the requirement for Ukraine aid is assurances that there is no “10% for the big guy”?
Because they got their hands in the pie too.
Not one cent for Dick Tator Zelensky.
