A majority of Christians believed the Crusades were justified, want to try it again?
It is very plain from their scriptures that muslims, from the very beginning, have no problem killing Jews and Christians. So what were you saying about the Crusades? How would you like to “try it again”?
There were no polls in the Middle Ages. If there had been polls few people working the land would have understood the the Eastern frontier of Western Civilization was under constant threat of Muslim attack. So, aside from the poll thing, the Crusades were a reaction and justified.
The crusades were a reaction to the previous invasion and conquest of the Holy Land by the Moslems and were justified. The “atrocities “ of the time were part of then normal warfare. The Cru;sades were justified then and would be now if only to dent the scourge of Islam.
Actually, the Crusades were justified in the context of the times. After the Muslim conquest, Christians were increasingly preyed upon and their access to the Holy Land as pilgrims was impeded.
