Bttt
Whatever you want to call it, the climate/EV insanity is not “sustainable”. In a free market price is an indicator of the resources necessary to produce a commodity. Without massive subsidies EVs are too expensive to be anything but a minor niche product. Wind and solar are not “sustainable” because 1. They are too unreliable and 2. They are too expensive capital cost wise for competitive advantage over conventional generation (except hydro and hydro is pretty much maxed out site wise).
Without government’s thumb on the scale via subsidies to the EV industry and impossible emissions standards on fossil fuel generation the market would put all of this nonsense on the ash heap. EVs were already killed once 100 years ago by market forces and now they’re back with the same problems that consumers rejected them for then propped up by government foolishness.
EV’s are a fine concept - but battery technology has not advanced far enough yet to support the government’s mass adoption plans. The Hindenburg was a fine concept, too - until it wasn’t.
For reasons of physics and chemistry batteries are extremely unlikely to ever reach the energy density needed to be equivalent to petroleum fuel
There are a LOT of things that customers never thought of when they purchased an EV; sadly, they're now finding out about them.
There are a LOT of things that manufactures and governments knew about EVs when they passed laws to eliminate ICE vehicles and subsidize EVs. They knew about them, but passed anti-ICE laws anyway, and everyone is paying the price.
I was thinking the EVs get a separate barge, towed behing the ferry.
Nearly 2/3 of US population lives within 100 miles of the coast.
Doesn't leave much of a market for EVs now, does it?
You can not deal with it.
Put the EV’e on the end of the lines and if it lights off, push it overboard.
