My dispute is not with your theory... It is possible.
I just disagree with it being “clearly” or “must be” the answer. Too many writers speak in absolutes that are never absolute.
Anything is possible, but in warfare, you’ve got to realize both sides have smart people doing extraordinary things, and faking out the enemy to force him to believe things is thousands of years old.
Underestimating your enemy is one of the primary ways to lose. I think the Israelis did just that.
And to quote Mike Tyson, “Everyone has a plan until they get punched in the mouth.”
Now we are underestimating/ignoring the intent of Iran. Maybe even Turkey. And in fact, Biden did so in early 2022 in Russia and Ukraine (remember him saying Putin would only invade a little bit?). Also, Afghanistan.
America is led by the worst possible fool just as things are looking very bad.
