Interesting... unpublished data. Usually, people who are trying to scientifically unsupported concepts write a scientific-looking paper and post it on a pre-print site, since that is the only way they can get the paper out where people can see it, since it would never pass the peer-review process. This claim apparently doesn't even warrant the placement of an unpublishable article on a pre-print site.

Hmm. No one would ever call observations of three patients a "study." At most, this is a case report. And there are a lot of problems with this even as a case report. The first question I would ask is whether their test reagents/protocols are sufficient to detect gut biota by species. And then I would ask whether other factors could have been responsible the change in one species of gut flora.
As of May 2023, 81% of the population had at least one dose of Covid vaccine and 69.5% had received the primary series. The numbers are higher now, since a few months have passed. COVID-19 Vaccinations in the United States. With the majority of the population being vaccinated, it would be easy to find people who lost gut microbiome diversity. After all, they would constitute the majority of the population by now. So where are all the peer-reviewed articles in the medical literature about the problem?
(I will also point out that The Epoch Times is not and has never been a credible source of scientific information. It purports to be a conservative media outlet, but I question that, given its complicity in spreading antivax and other misinformation regarding the Covid pandemic. It is clear that such misinformation has been targeted to conservatives, and the result has been that Republicans are around 7% more likely to die from Covid than Democrats. Why would an outlet that purported supports conservative values tell conservatives propaganda that kills them?)
