When one US base in Syria was threatened, Trump greased 300+ Wagner mercenaries.

The "Biden" regime keeps running away, so the Iranians will keep attacking. After all, why not? They don't suffer any penalty for attacking us.

Earlier attacks actually killed some Americans. The regime's response was to send more cash to Iran.

And whether putting US forces in there was good idea or bad idea is irrelevant: you can't bugger out with appearing to bugger out.

LOL We’ll have a higher chance of being attacked again if we run away. After all, why not? Why wouldn’t the Iranians rocket other US bases like the one at Doha? Or attack US ships? Because then the Obama-era cowards in DC will finally get tough? Laughable.

Trump wanted to get them out, but Congress and DOD were dead set against it. We should have left a long time ago.

“Why wouldn’t the Iranians rocket other US bases like the one at Doha?”

You realize Iran & Qatar are buddies right? If we go to war with over there all those Muslim nations will be kicking us off those bases anyway.

You remember that too? It seems like only you and I do. Certainly no one in DC remembers the lesson.

“Yes get our troops out of Iraq and Syria or we’re liable to have a repeat of the 1983 Beirut barracks bombings or similar.”

We already have only this time it is a series of Iranian and Russian missiles sold by North Korea along with Chinese missiles. Blood has already been shed. And it appears this let’s all get along attitude by the Biden administration and is going to cost a lot more lives. This was just a test and the US failed it completely.

When has a leftist president NOT got us into a war?

Bush the Elder still holds the all-time US Presidential record of invading a different foreign country every year of his Presidency.

And we have no business importing Syria (or Venezuela, or pick any number of other 3rd world shitholes).

Yes. No business there, but our Neocon policymakers put our guys in a ultimately indefensible position in hopes of achieving another regime change, which is shorthand for totally disrespecting another country’s sovereignty. Another great Neocon win. But they’re not through wrecking everything yet....

Not my circus. Not my monkeys.

Deploy the troops on the Rio Grande. Let the Middle Easterners straighten out their own stuff.

Pretty short war.

How many millions of munitions and hardware did they fly in there before abandoning it?

Qatar plays all sides off the other for their own benefit.

If we continue to show weakness, the Iranians may press Qatar for our withdrawal or just attack our base: after all, there's little Qatar itself can do in response.

You realize the entire Hamas leadership lives in Qatar and Qatar was the major financial supporter of Hamas right? If anything they will tell the US to get out. All the Muslim countries are aligning over this. When this is over the US will have zero influence in this strategic area.

People need to quit emoting and think rationally. The US has global interests that go well beyond Israel and we need to look out for our own interests first. Israel is an ally not the 51st state.

Syria has already attempted attacks here earlier this year before the Hamas war.

Iran’s revolutionaries have been at war with us since 1979.
Russia has been at it much longer, since the birth of the USSR in the early 1900s.
Marxists longer still.
Muslims from the very beginning of our country.

We weren’t in Iraq or Syria when the 1970s Soviet-backed Middle Eastern hijackers started their crap. And the Soviet backed Sandinistas joined in the hijackings soon after, training with the Palestinians.
