You know, one of the lessons of recent history is that you can hate indigenous peoples all you want, attack them all you want, attrite them all you want, and yet they will remain and you won't be able to control the outcome. And BTW what happened to the Gallopoli campaign. As I recall that brilliant strategem was not a resounding success for ourside.

Very true, but the destruction of the Ottoman Empire was the closest thing to a free hand in the middle east we would ever see. Too bad it had to end with the mess it’s become.
The Gallipoli campaign was a debacle engineered by Churchill. He thought the Royal Navy would win the campaign and allow the landed troops to march into Constantinople virtually uncontested. Unfortunately the site of the landing was telegraphed by the Royal Navy when it began bombarding the landing zone a full month before the land troops arrived. Things went downhill from there.
At least the withdrawal from Gallipoli went off rather well.
