Anyone else notice how it used to be serial killers that we always had popping up, but now it’s mass shooters. We went from one to the other. Weird.

I had thought of that awhile ago. Also add in airplane high- jackings into the cycle and I’m sure there are more. Kidnappings perhaps?
I think a mix of social contagion, media fixations, political agendas, etc. all play a role. While we don’t seem to have many plane high-jackings anymore, I’m positive that there are just as many (probably more) serial killers out there but they aren’t getting any press.
