If true, the authorities should gather and protect his new hearing aids. They need to be analyzed to see if they were a factor in hearing "voices in his head". His SIL thought his mental problems cascaded after he got them. Did he have a "controller"?

I suspect he was dead by the end of the day, or possibly early the next day. In almost all these cases, it either turns into a suicide by cop situation, or they just off themselves.
