Here’s a theory they were tossing around at work. Let’s say he was just an odd duck, not psycho, just different. Over time he began losing his hearing. Whenever he’d hang out at the bowling alley or restaurant or anywhere, people would comment on his weirdness, but he never really heard them. Nod, smile, wave...
He gets a new, super, state of the art hearing aid and suddenly he hears everything - including the mean comments he hadn’t heard in the past.
He hears enough and can’t stand it. The rest, is history.
Wild theory, but this is a wild case.
